the marts’ holiday extravaganza, m-room, philadelphia, pa 12/17/04

a holiday show put on by the marts with the silence kit, the dipsomaniacs, midnite grace, grandfabric, us and (of course) the marts.  all the bands added some holiday themed songs to their sets. we kept the holiday spirit alive for most of our set, only adding one of our regular songs when we had some extra time near the end.

dewey beach pop fest, dewey beach, de, 4/25/03

this was a fun night featuring a few unplanned beatles covers. halfway through our set the fuse blew that was powering the pa so the mics went out. while it was being repaired we played “eight days a week” and the entire bar sang it. the power came back for the pa and we finished our set right up until the last song when “helter skelter” ended prematurely with the power to the entire room going out.

mcguire’s pub, atlantic city, nj, 5/25/01

i think this was the first time lauree had us come down and play mcguire’s. we split the night with the dipsomaniacs each band playing an hour set and then at the end of the night alternating back and forth between bands doing two songs each. we wrapped up the show around 4:00 am, went over to one of the casinos and bet all of our door money on black.

upstage, philadelphia, pa, 10/7/00

this was the record release show for face down records left of the dial replacements tribute cd. there were five or six bands on the bill that all had a song on the cd. the upstage was packed with people who came to hear replacements songs but most of the bands played a set of their own songs plus the one replacements song that they contributed to the album. luckily for us we had decided to learn an entire set of ‘mats tunes. this was the first time we ever played an entire set of another bands songs, it wouldn’t be the last. songs in our set were: don’t ask why, color me impressed, i will dare, favorite thing, unsatisfied, seen your video, sixteen blue, iou, i don’t know, red red wine and achin’ to be.
